Abstract :

The integrated reservoir management and flood mitigation system utilizes real time data and advanced technologies like machine learning to optimize gate operations and prevent flooding. In response to heavy rainfall forecasts, the system’s inflow estimation model processes data from weather stations and soil moisture sensors. The automated gate control system adjusts gate openings preemptively, releasing water to prevent downstream flooding. Simultaneously, a flood risk assessment model evaluates potential impacts, guiding optimal gate positions. In emergencies, a response plan triggers rapid gate adjustments. The system ensures continuous monitoring of reservoir levels and data sources, adapting to evolving environmental conditions. The outcomes include effective flood prevention, reduced property damage, conservation of water resources for future use and enhanced ecological sustainability. The presentation underscores the system’s potential as a model for resilient water resource management, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals and fostering community safety and prosperity.
