Design and Analysis of Rectangular Microstrip Patch Using Simple Single Layer Geometry

Abstract :

This research proposes a low profile multiband micro strip patch antenna that is designed for 5G mm Wave wireless networks, devices and applications. The suggested patch antenna is suited for usage in smart portable devices and has a small rectangular shaped structure of 8.6 x 9.2 x 0.6 mm3, including the slotted inset feed line and the ground plane. The antenna has a maximum bandwidth of 12.5 GHz, 8.341 GHz, 5.9609 GHz, 2.7634 GHz, and 1.5663 GHz, respectively, and operates in the mm-wave bands of 93.9 GHz, 81.9 GHz, 66.2 GHz, 39.4 GHz, and 23.8 GHz. The proposed design offers gains of 6.5805 dBi, 6.925 dBi, 7.6768 dBi, 7.6845 dBi, and 8.1006 dBi at resonant frequencies. Utilizing Micro Strip Feeding technology, the benefits of 5G multiband antenna’s design are low cost, light in weight, high gain, efficiency and low profile. Since the antenna was made for the 2.4 GHz frequency band, it is ideal for a wide range of wireless systems, including satellite communication, radar, and medical applications. The Ansoft HFSS software is used to carry out this job.
