A PFC Based EV Battery Charger Using a Bridgeless Modified SEPIC Converter
Abstract :
For reducing conduction losses the semiconductors Bridgeless power factor correction (PFC) converter plays a vital role. This paper suggest a bridgeless Cuk PFC converter. The suggested bridgeless Cuk PFC converter uses fewer conducting semiconductors than conventional Cuk PFC converter, which reduces loss in the conductor. In the meanwhile, the proposed converter has less modules overall than its bridgeless Cuk PFC rivals, especially when taking the electrolytic capacitor and big-volume magnetic module into account. The proposed converter also has a common ground for all power switches, allowing for simple drivers and a single control for functioning them. In Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM), a theoretical model of the recommended converter is described. It has the advantages of natural power sharpening, easy control, and zero-power switching in semiconductors. Finally, a laboratory prototype 100W and a simulation were created to verify the suggested bridgeless Cuk PFC converter.
